                                Field Day

Water Shoes, Water Shoes, Water Shoes Are Everywhere!

Our Jr. Cougars must be working hard to be the “hands and feet of Jesus” and earning money because our tents are getting quite full -- so filled with water shoes that we are just a few "steps" away from our 100 pair goal! I am so blessed and filled with JOY by each Jr. Cougar who comes to visit me, as they share what they did to help provide this gift of love to another child! he last day to purchase water shoes for the campers of Camp at Old Mill will be this Friday, 4/29/16. hank you for all you have done to encourage and support your child with this mission project so that the incoming campers can have a splashing great time at Camp at Old Mill this summer while learning about and experiencing the love of Jesus all around them!

It’s a Wrap!

While studying the science behind Ancient Egypt and building their own "sweet” pyramid, our Jr. Cougar scientists wrapped up the season of scientific exploration, experimentation, learning, and fun last Thursday after school, at least for the school season! These maturing scientists are roaring with excitement about CCS hosting our very own Science Explorers Summer Camp this summer featuring the “Take a Dive” unit of study. It will be held on Monday, August 1  - Thursday, August 4 from 9 am - noon. See Mrs. "Crystal" Caley’s email below:

Hi Jr. Cougar Parents,

I just wanted to let you know that we are sending home a coupon this week for the summer camp program that is being held here for the first time this summer! YAY!  Mrs. Brenner and I will be teaching this half-day summer camp and are very excited about this biology-based camp called Let's Take a Dive!  I know you already received a paper about this, but we have attached the coupon to another paper in case the original one is not handy, or feel free to give the paper to a friend, neighbor, or cousin!  This camp would be a great way to introduce our school to someone as well.

Please note that if you use the coupon, you need to call in the registration to get the discount and special fossil for the student. You can email me with any additional questions at janet.caley@constogachristian.net.  Other students not attending the club this school year need to register online at www.ScienceExplorers.com.

Keep encouraging your little scientists to think, observe, and learn about the beauty and marvel of our Creator's world!

Community Helpers Helping Once Again!

Thanks to the vision and efforts of Mrs. Eberly, our beloved kindergarten teacher, and her team, last Friday our Jr. Cougars in Pre-K to third grade got to experience a “picture” into the day in the life of our community helper heroes. These super men and women share their expertise, wisdom, time, energy, hard work, and heart daily to help and take care of us, keeping us safe and healthy. On Friday they gave even more to us, right here in our CCS parking lot! These helper heroes included the fire fighters of the Caernarvon Fire Company and their fire truck and pick-up truck and Mr. Long (dad of Tyler in kindergarten) and his enormous and entertaining tractor trailer. Be sure to ask your child about recess in the trailer of the truck. :) It also included Mr. and Mrs. Martin (dad and mom of Tanner in fifth grade and Emily in third grade) and their super-sized tow truck; a trusty, but not rusty, tractor and informative display from the Beam pig farm, driven in by Mrs. Beam herself, along with Mrs. Johnson (mom of Cameron in first grade); and Mrs. McCoog, a caring and captivating local nurse. Last but not least, our very own senior, Julie Gardner, who is an EMT and firefighter, confidently, passionately, and lovingly shared about her work on the ambulance. A super time was had by all, and we are a bit more informed and a lot more thankful to all of our helping heroes!

Thank you for allowing CCS to partner with the Lord and you
to share this part of your child's journey

“HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER!”
heart character

In this season of hearts, chocolates, flowers, and love, I am reminded daily through the words of God’s love letter (the Bible) to us and from my brothers and sisters in Christ that “the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:5

Because of His great and enduring love for us, God our Father gave us His heart when He gave us His Son! “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Not only did God give us His Son, “but God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
With the gift of eternal life that we have received because of Jesus, we now know what true, unconditional love is, and we can “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”  John 13:34-35
On this Valentine’s Day may you be reminded and know in your own heart and share with your precious big and little ones that God’s “love never fails!” 1 Corinthians 13:8

JR. COUGARS GO OUT for the day!
go banner
While our beloved elementary teachers are participating in an all-day technology in-service back at school, our Jr. Cougars will be loving time out of school exploring the DaVinci Science Center. This fun-filled day will be taking place on Thursday, March 10. Please watch your child’s folder next week for more information and the off-campus trip form.

JR. COUGAR DAYS
Because our Jr. Cougars love science, social studies, and the arts so much, this year we have decided to celebrate this love of learning for a whole week as an elementary school! Jr. Cougar Days are planned for the week of February 22-26. Jr. Cougar Week is running in conjunction with the 4th and 5th grade Adventure Days. Along with Jr. Cougar Week/4th and 5th grade Adventure Days, we are hosting a “Jr. Cougars Afternoon Delight Showcase” on Friday, February 26, from 1:45 - 2:30 pm. Similar to the “Evening of Science and the Arts,” this is a Jr. Cougars Open House. Please save the date to share this special “show-and-tell” time with your bright and delightful Jr. Cougar! Parents are invited to drop in and visit your child’s classroom to view projects and displays related to science, social studies, and art. Feel free to join your Jr. Cougar for a mini tour through the elementary abode to experience a taste of the fun, love, and learning that we get to share and delight in every school day!

SHARING OUR LOVE OF THE LORD AND CCS…

“POP INTO CCS”

A special opportunity for our CCS families to invite their family and friends to "POP into CCS" to see what makes our school "POP over the Top!" Maybe you like your popcorn on the sweet side of things; then start your day with us at chapel singing the praises of our Savior. Or maybe you like your popcorn and day with a little more of a "salty spunk." You can take a guided tour with one our students or faculty members. Or perhaps you like your popcorn full of zest and life. Take a few minute as you wrap up your visit to sit in on a class heating up and "popping" along in learning and growing! So many flavors of the day when you "POP into CCS" for a visit!

Along with the open house on Wednesday, 2/17/16, there is an ALL-SCHOOL CHAPEL at 8:25 am in the gym. ALL are invited to attend.

LITTLE CONESTOGA PRESCHOOL
loves books, penguins, and all things Spring!

Our precious wee ones and their terrific teachers are opening their classroom doors and hearts to friends and neighbors by sharing Preschool Storytime with the "public” for the first time starting this coming Wednesday, 2/17/16!

Love Learning?...Got Labels?...Eat Pizza?
Ready for this??? :)
If you eat, you’ve got “Labels for Education” at home! If you’ve got labels, our school can turn them into money! The money helps us pursue our love of learning! And pizza, well the class that brings in the most labels will win a pizza party!

Labels + Learning = Pizza!  It all adds up to a win, win, win!

So, collect, cut, and send in those labels because Jr. Cougars love learning, labels, and pizza!
