It is hard to believe that the first day of fall is on our doorsteps, but the the crisp air and cool breezes greeted us as a loving reminder that with God there is a season for everything. The fall season brings thoughts of falling leaves, everything pumpkin flavored, campfires, roasted marshmallows, hot apple cider, soft cozy sweatshirts, and of course Cougar soccer and volleyball. (Did you happen to hear that both middle school and high school volleyball and soccer teams had a clean sweep of wins in our home games played on this past Saturday! Whoop! Whoop!:) In addition to the sights, sounds, smells, and thoughts of fall, our Jr. Cougars have so much to look forward to on our CCS campus over the coming weeks. Here’s what’s happening this week:

This Tuesday:

The Jr. Cougars MATH MATTERS Math Club
has begun, but it is not too late to join in on the fun!

Also on Tuesday:

Under the leadership of Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Gascho, our Jr. Cougars have eager and busy hands and fingers as they work together to tie our Jr.Cougars Elementary Quilt that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on Saturday, 10/17/15. What a precious and exciting time in our building and in the life of our school!

This Wednesday:

“See You at the Pole” is on Wednesday, September 23, 2015!
This Wednesday, Christian high school students, teachers, parents, and clergy will gather around the flagpoles outside their local schools to pray for our country, communities, schools, and world. We at CCS will be gathering at 7:30 a.m. in the gym that morning to pray in spirit with the rest of our brothers and sisters around the country. All in the CCS community, including our Jr. Cougars and their families, are invited to join faculty, staff, and fellow students and their families in this exciting time of prayer.

On Friday:
Elementary Chapel
Another Jr. Cougar favorite is when we can gather together  in prayer, worship, fun, and fellowship to learn and study God’s Word!  We have the privilege of gathering for chapel this Friday, 9/25/15, at 8:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room in the high school. All parents are invited to attend! (Please sign in at the office upon arrival.)  After chapel, Pam Gable and the PTF invite you to:

Please join us after chapel for a short time of fellowship with other parents and hear more about the PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) events that are planned for this year.  This will be a great time to meet other parents and learn about opportunities for volunteering as the school year begins.

Next Tuesday:
Coming in for a Landing!
The JAARS helicopter will be landing on the CCS soccer field on Tuesday, September 29, at 10:45 a.m. JAARS stands for Jungle Aviation and Radio Service. JAARS is a non-profit organization that helps organizations around the world get practical, day-to-day support for Bible translation. To learn more about JAARS visit https://www.jaars.org/about. The JAARS pilot will be sharing with the entire student body about the helicopter and the role of jungle aviation in missions. CCS patrons are invited to join our students in this exciting opportunity. The program will be about 45 minutes. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
                       (from the “Cougar Update”)

Thank you for allowing CCS to partner with the Lord and you to share this part or your child’s journey in growing spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
