What to do if your Jr. Cougar is absent from school...

Notifying the School of Absences

  • It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to contact the school office with the reason for the absence as soon as possible on any day a student is absent. Messages can be left on office voicemail at any time. A staff person in the CCS office will call for information regarding an absent student for whom no information has been received.

  • If a parent/guardian does not contact the school to provide information about the absence, the absence will be considered unexcused. If parents/guardians would like to request an excused absence, they need to notify the school within three days. While notification does not automatically excuse the absence, no absence will be excused without notification. If no notification occurs within 5 school days upon return to school, the absence will be identified as unexcused and will not be changed unless granted by the Head of School.

This year we have the blessing of experiencing a very special Getting to Know Day on Friday, September 13th when we host our first-ever all day Spiritual Emphasis Conference for our Jr. Cougars!

Pause and Pray
10:05 Initiative

This year we invite you to join us  at 10:05 am wherever you are  (at the store, in the car, at your desk, etc)to Pause and Pray for 2 minutes to "every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ." And then do it on the weekends and non-school days too!

Here's what it looks like at CCS:

  • At 10:05 am daily the entire school, including all classes, offices, meetings, etc. will pause for quiet individual prayer for 2 minutes

  • The 2 minute silent prayer time will begin with a bogen announcement by administration or office staff that states the focus verse, 2 Corinthians 10:5 and “let us pray”

  • After 2 minutes have passed the front desk staff will announce “in Jesus' name, Amen” and the prayer time will be concluded

Why?

  1. Revival starts with prayer

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” 2 Chronicles 7:14

  1. We can be living examples of what we teach/preach

“A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.” Luke 6:40

  1. We can experience God’s presence and peace in the pause

“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:7

“The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” Psalm 145:18

  1. Breakthroughs and blessings start and end with prayer

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us”

  1. Prayer focuses our minds and hearts on Jesus. Jesus focus builds a bond of unity, strength, and courage

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Matthew 18:20
